To those who require food, especially when that's difficult at a LARP
Important news for those who require food while in the Drachenlands!
The Matey’s Morsel of Blue Camp, in the theme of Japanese street restaurants or yatai, is an ooc meal plan and an IC place to buy (for coin) or work for food - even without being part of the meal plan. We are focused primarily on serving the needs of DFUS attendees who have a dietary restriction or difficulty, as I myself am gluten and dairy free.
Meal Plan members, limited to 50, will be given a favor which allows them to eat for free. Patrons without a favor can pay for their meal in coin or labor - but expect coin prices to be high.
Applications for the Meal Plan are open until April 1st 2025. Selection criteria includes food & health concerns, if you’re sleeping on site, what camp you’re part of (blue gets priority - home town pride you understand), and if you’ve donated to the Bento Box Fundraiser, among other things. Please see the links for the full explanation.
Everyone wants to know about the meal plan price point. The trouble is, I cannot predict the price of food and goods in 6 months. I will say the following: Barring a dramatic rise in food and commodities prices between January and late May, the meal plan cost will be no more than $200 dollars per person. If you are offered a spot on the meal plan, there will be an option to request a discount if needed. Please don’t skip applying for the sake of finances, especially if you have a food & health concern that The Morsel may be able to ease.
The fundraiser: Sales will close February 4th. The top tier Bento Box includes both your name laser engraved on the lid, and free white rice while The Morsel is serving. As an added incentive: while the core menu of The Matey’s Morsel will be walking food, we will be able and willing to prepare much more - but you will need to supply your own plate, bowl and cutlery. Yes, including Meal Plan members.
