Hello! I’m Alex (they/them), and I’m coming to Drachenfest as Lynn Friar (he/they)
with only a few days left until the event, it is crunch time now more than ever. So in order to force me to NOT procrastinate until Monday, I’ll be posting some kit progress as I go. Hopefully everything works the way I want it to.
Lynn is a traveling tea trader. He grew up in a small village and ran away from home in a rage one night to explore the world and get away from his mothe‘s plans for him. After a couple years wandering, collecting stories, and gathering the best teas there are, Lynn’s sister came to find him. She told him that their mother fell into an illness and wouldn’t make it. This forced him to return home and say his goodbyes. They ended up staying home for some time but the natural curiosity about the world quickly pulled them away again.
Now, Lynn traverses the world. They do odd jobs and trade tea for food, a place to sleep, or clothing. He heard the dragon’s call, welcoming him to the Bazaar and the Tribune to tell him tales, share his tea, and even stir up some trouble…
Feel free to share thoughts or questions🖤
Alright, I’m almost done with my kit! I’ve got some minor props and a tunic if I have time. But I did a test yesterday at a day long Faire and it was surprisingly comfy. I also took a picture there to be the cover for Lynn’s playlist

UPDATE 06/03 Part 2
I ended up finishing the cloak. It’s made out of tarp/waterproof material to keep me and my things dry while traversing the camps. I also made it with chest straps. Cloaks are notorious for digging into the front of your neck because of their uneven weight. I knew that would be very uncomfortable for several hours at a time, especially with wind. So I highly recommend and encourage making some kind of body straps for your cloaks. They can be decently concealed if you tie them back directly without crossing at the front
Next up: tea cup holster and/or bag/pouches
UPDATE 06/03
After messing up with the first pattern, I finally nailed these pants. I’m a big fan of how they turned out and I’ll make a matching backup if I have time. Otherwise I’ll use one of my other pants as backups. I’m in love with the shape and how they look!
Next up: rain cloak
UPDATE (06/02)
I got a piece done today. The best name I can think of is a corset vest? Either way, it looks amazing and I’m really proud of how it came out. The armholes are a bit tight for me, so I probably won’t wear it every day. But it’s a great piece to add to my kit
Next up: pants!
Sharing tea with a fascinating stranger is one of life's true delights.
A troublesome tea trader and traveling Tribune tale-teller? Totally Tops!
